Air Canada launches Embarq with a 50% Aeroplan earn uplift for eligible business travel

Development analysis

What changed, why it matters, and what leaders should watch.

What changed

Air Canada launched Embarq, a no-fee, self-service business-travel platform for eligible Canadian small and medium-sized businesses and nonprofits that do not already have an Air Canada corporate agreement. Eligible travellers booking through the program can earn 1.5 times Aeroplan points, comprising base points plus a 50% bonus, on eligible flown trips through December 30, 2026; the platform also provides company travel-management tools and eligible fare discounts.

Loyalty and rewards implications

Aeroplan is extending a distinct earn-rate incentive into the small-business travel workflow, where a company booking channel, individual traveller account and flight activity reinforce one another. Banks and credit unions can apply the same model by connecting business servicing and employee-level rewards, while keeping program eligibility, end dates and incremental economics explicit.
